FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

 

A Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) has been issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Programs.  In accordance with its guidelines, The Greater Bridgeport Area Continuum of Care (GBACoC) is seeking proposals for new permanent supportive housing projects in the Greater Bridgeport area exclusively serving individuals who meet the HUD definition of being chronically homeless.  The HUD share of the project budget should not exceed $191,223 for a two-year period of which no more than 20% can be devoted to case management services.

Interested providers may download the RFP from the GBACoC website, www.gbacoc.org.  Interested providers may also obtain copies of the application materials between the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday at the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County, 75 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT  06604, Phone: (203) 334-5106.

Applicants should submit an original and five (5) copies of their proposals to Judy Sklarz at the above-noted address.  Facsimiles or electronic submissions will not be accepted.

New applicants are also required to make a brief, ten-minute oral presentation with a one-page written summary of their proposal at the April 11th GBACoC plenary meeting at The Catholic Center, 238 Jewett Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Applicants must contact Bill Hoey at (203) 372-4301, x. 348, e-mail: bhoey@ccfc-ct.org to be placed on the agenda.

The deadline for submission is April 27, 2007 at 4:00 PM at the United Way office listed above.
